An Alternative to The Widening of Hatchet Road (Part 2)

Another alternative to option 1 we gave (click here), is to have the following.

Make the new By-Pass two lane dual-carriageway, as it was originally planned over 20 years ago. This will relieve traffic. At present the council has reneged on this option and the new By-Pass will only be single lane. Weird!

Leave Hatchet Road alone, as the traffic will be less, due to the flow on the new By-Pass. This means buses, including the Metrobus can come down Hatchet Road, which would have a quicker route.

Indeed, we would welcome the Metrobus down the road, as long as it used the new By-Pass too. As that is what the government gave the money for. Not the Hatchet Road route.

Easy.
