NO METROBUS?

To cater for the MetroBus 'green' route, the council will have to widen Hatchet Road up to a minimum of three lanes.
That’s potentially an extra ten metres wide!!
This will mean land-grab of gardens, trees & parks. Reduction in size of Meade Park, The Royals Park, gardens and of course it will take many years for trees to grow back.
Plus; imagine crossing a three-lane road.
WHY NOT HATCHET ROAD?
Why shouldn't Hatchet Road be widened? Well because....
> Many mature trees will be destroyed
> A number of hedges will be ripped out
> People's gardens will be affected
> Popular parks will be ruined
> Wildlife will lose their homes
> Safe routes to school will be harder
> Traffic will be more congested
> Noise will increase for residents
> Great Stoke Way could be used instead
