How many lanes will be added?

The Giff has stated that FOUR lanes will be on Hatchet Road after the council has completed the scheme. However, this is from the outline drawing on the TravelWest website, and associated Minutes.
From editor Adam having a conversation with Councillors it appears there is an uncertainty whether there will be a little bit of widening, one lane or two.
For example Councillor Jones of Stoke Gifford states that only a few feet will be needed. He then proceeds to mention 'bus lanes' and finally a 'lane'.
Confused? So were we.
We will stick to the fact that the plan will be two extra lanes, making Hatchet Road four lanes wide. Why? Well why would the council allow a MetroBus route in one direction but not the other. They seem to be discussing a southbound route only, but this would be down to Ratcliffe/Hatchet Road roundabout. The Northbound MetroBus it would seem will have to queue. That seems hardly likely. Not when you consider 40 Acres is going to be affected for one lane only. No, we will stick to two extra lanes until councillors and teh council can decide. This of course is assuming that the scheme is only an option and not in detailed design stage yet. We think it already is.
